Section 18: Lincoln Gap to Rte. 17 - Bridge Out!

The Catamount Trail/Mad River Path bridge immediately east of German Flats Road in Fayston was washed away by recent high water. Fortunately there is an alternative just upstream (south) of this crossing. If you are skiing northbound on the CT, as you descend steeply to approach German Flats Road, look for a chance to make a left immediately before the old crossing. A short spur trail along the east side of the stream takes you to a new bridge that leads to a trailhead parking area across from the Fayston Elementary School.
