Default Trail conditions in the south

skied Section 3 from harriman dam up to rt.9 today. Lots of snow and a little powder. Very good kick and glide conditions on a flat old Rail Road. took about 3 hours to ski.

Default Section 2 conditions

Thanks for the update Fletch, glad you liked the trail. Just for the record, the section from Harriman Dam to Rt 9 is Section 2.

Default section 2 report

You are right sam. I should not rely on my memory at my age. Looks like we lost some snow today. Hope Vt. gets snow not rain friday. I would like to ski section 4 or the north half of section 5 the first of next week.
You dont happen to know if there is an easy way to get up to Stratton pond from the mt. ski area? I would like to make some kind of loop on the IP road with out spotting a car.

There is an old road that goes off one of the roads with condo's along it. It connects with the Catamount Trail north of the IP road crossing. Sorry, can't recall the name.

Default Dam long tour

6 strong skiers did kelly Stand Road to Route 9 on March 1. Knee deep snow to break through. I suspect that warm weather this week (rain?) will create many wet spots/stream crossings.

Darn, I wish I could get up to do this section tomorrow, but my ski partner is tied up and with out a car spot it is to long up and back.
