After much back-and-forth on what the recent weather had/hadn't done to the skiing, we ended up with a fine ski at Blueberry Hill in Goshen today, much of it on the Catamount Trail.
For those of you near that area: don't be fooled by the low snow that's down near Route 7: there's quite a bit more at the elevation of BBH. Tony "Never Cancel a Ski Event" Clark did a Herculean job of grooming anything that was too crunchy, and in the ungroomed areas there was a dusting of new snow on top of a firm crust that was real friendly to ski on. I had probably one of my most fun runs down Romance since the snow was both fast and carve-able. In general, though, here in central Vermont there is much more snow on the east side of the greens than on the west. Thanks to all volunteers, musicians, skiers, and of course Blueberry Hill for a real fun day! Check back and I'll get some pictures posted over the next couple of days. Lynn |
