Section 1 report and conditions

Three of us skied Section 1 (State line to Harriman Dam) 2/4/2008. The nearly unbreakable crusts raises this usually-easy section to an advanced intermediate until more snow comes. Complete cover, quick (we went N to S, downhill on the gradual old railroad grade) and sticky ("What is that brown sticky thing on your ski?" "A stick") from the high winds.
